About Split Wall Stone:

Natural stone wall cladding products called "split face stone/mushroomed stone" are used especially in exterior wall coverings and garden walls to give the impression that the building is made of solid stone blocks. Split Face generally refers to products that have either been quarried or mechanically split using machines to create a rough hewn surface that shows off the natural cleft of the stone.

Split face is a broad term used in the building materials industry for any material that has been broken or split to expose a rougher surface. In the case of stone, the split face is desirable as it provides natural texture and stratification that is hard to duplicate outside of nature.

The split face finish of marble and natural stone shows the most indomitable side of the rock. The artisan process of this treatment exposes a non-mechanized section of a block or plate, uncovering reliefs and irregularities.
